Maths in the English classroom

Here’s a fun activity to practise numbers and stimulate those logical learners and maths whizzes and a five-minute game at the end of the lesson.  Stand students in a circle and then give them a sum to kick them off…I usually start with “One plus…”, then throw a ball to someone to answer.  They then continue using the previous answer and plus or minus.

It makes a change from just throwing the ball and doing numbers in order and keeps them on their toes!
