Real Pieces of a Puzzle
This is actually a follow-on from my previous post as I decided not to do the engage section with post-its. Instead, I cut the page of images into pieces and handed out a random piece to each student. They had to describe what they could see on the piece and then they worked together to put the puzzle together on the board. I think if I had higher level students, I would have made them put the puzzle together orally too, one piece at a time: “I think my piece goes next to yours because I can see part of Guernica on both.”
